There are familiar household names in the Kansas City area which SIEMENS is associated. For example, SIEMENS owns OSRAM SYLVANIA —the company that many of us use for lighting our homes and offices. Also, KANSAS CITY POWER AND LIGHT purchased a gas turbine (power generator) from SIEMENS as recently as 1996, and many of us use electricity produced from that unit on a regular basis.
